In today's episode of the Mission Motherhood Podcast with Caroline J. Sumlin, we're talking about staying content in the seasons we are in while being hopeful and expectant for the next season God has for us.
This episode is a continuation of last week's episode where we talked about having big dreams as a mama and how frustrating it feels to be torn between the two - especially when you're in seasons of motherhood that lessen your capacity to do both motherhood and fulfill your dreams at equal capacity.
It's important to understand that our capacities and circumstances change from season to season. You may be in a season that is particularly challenging. Your circumstances may be causing more stress than you'd like. Your capacities may be more limited in this season of motherhood than the next one. Even this season of COVID is just a season. There WILL be an end to it, even if we don't know when that end is.
So, while we're in these challenging seasons that feel limited or extra difficult, how do we stay content? Can we stay content and be hopeful for the next season at the same time.
Take heart, mama. And tune into today's episode.

How to Stop Pouring From an Empty Cup
Tuesday May 26, 2020
Tuesday May 26, 2020
Are you tired of running on empty, but feel super guilty when you want to take time to fill your cup?
This is a common theme in motherhood.
For some reason, as mamas we believe that, in order to prove how good of a mother we are, we must make sure that everything and everyone is perfect before we dare do anything to take care of ourselves. This leaves us feeling depleted, frustrated, and resentful. Not only that, but we also have nothing left to pour from, and therefore we do our families a disservice instead of actually serving them.
In episode 007 of the Mission Motherhood Podcast, we are choosing to be mothers that make sure our cup stays filled no matter what. Because, when we choose to run on empty, our families receive our emptiness. And, they deserve better than that.
Dive into today's episode for three tactical tips you can take today to begin taking care of yourself, meeting your needs on a regular basis, and stop pouring from an empty cup once and for all.

Why The Laundry Can't Wait
Tuesday May 19, 2020
Tuesday May 19, 2020
Have you felt completely burdened by maintaining and managing your home?
From never-ending piles of laundry to sinks full of dirty dishes to the toys that are always everywhere, managing a home is one of the largest contributors to the mental load that most, if not all, moms carry.
In fact, homemaking is often portrayed in a negative light in today's mommy-culture. Some schools of thought believe that mothers who desire to be homemakers and delight in homemaking are fake. Other schools encourage mothers to let go of homemaking because "the kids are only little once," which can lend to the mom-guilt of having to choose between maintaining their home and spending time with their kids.
In this episode of the Mission Motherhood Podcast, we dive deep into these negative homemaking ideologies and apply God’s truth to them. We then equip you to begin delighting in homemaking as you are called to as a woman of God (without the overwhelm.)

In this episode, we dive deep into what this looks like from a Biblical perspective. We combat the myths that it is selfish to create space for yourself as a mother and as a person and we give you the practical tools that you need to create rhythms in your family that will help you serve your family well, while also making room for your cup to remain full.
